Former Trump Advisor Opens Up in New Book, “Why We Lost the White House”
Former Trump advisor Peter Navarro has a new book coming out later this month titled, “Taking Back Trump’s America: Why We Lost the White House and How We’ll Win,” in which he talks about just why he believes that President Trump legitimately lost the election.
Trump surrounded himself with “globalists, Never-Trump Republicans, wild-eyed [House] Freedom Caucus nut jobs,” and “Wall Street transactionalists” shortly after winning the election, according to Navarro. These individuals would “come to plant so many poisonous Bad Policy Trees” during Trump’s presidency.
Navarro stated that he “pulls no punches” in his book when criticizing Trump’s poor personnel decisions. He claimed to be one of three top advisors who remained with Trump from the 2016 campaign until the transfer of power.
I actually agree with Navarro. President Trump did select some bad apples at times to be on his staff. But there were also some who we really didn’t know how they would turn out beforehand.
But honestly, if you look at his entire staff, there are really only a handful of people that I can think of who really remained loyal to him throughout.
“I call it the Achilles’ heel of the boss. I love the boss despite these bad personnel. He’s the best president we’ve ever had,” Navarro said.
As an example of a policy gone wrong, Navarro points to the China deal in which he alleges that his son-in-law Jared Kushner as well as Steven Mnuchin, who served as Secretary of Treasury during the Trump administration, “single-handedly destroyed” the China policy with their “back dealing with Wall Street and the Communist Chinese themselves.”
So, this all sort of begs the question on what we are to make of Navarro. Here he is saying that he’s remained loyal to President Trump, but now he’s letting the cat out of the bag. Is he just the same as the others, or is Navarro different? Is what he says true, or a fabrication? What I would like to know is whether or not what Navarro says matched with what Bill Barr has said in his book.
