FBI Caves and Hands Over Biden Bribery Docs to Comer
On Monday, the House Oversight Committee’s top lawmakers, Chairman James Comer (R-KY) and Ranking Member Jamie Raskin (D-MD), will review an FBI document that contains allegations of President Joe Biden receiving a multi-million-dollar bribe from an “adversarial country.” The document will be reviewed in a secure facility, called the SCIF, designed for sensitive intelligence review. However, recent reports suggesting that the document will be handed over to Congress are not accurate.
“Chairman Comer will receive a briefing from the FBI and review the document on Monday. Chairman Comer has been clear that anything short of producing the FD-1023 form to the House Oversight Committee is not compliance with his subpoena. This unclassified record contains pages of details that need to be investigated further by the House Oversight Committee,” an Oversight Committee spokesperson said in a statement.
Comer and other Congressional Republicans are threatening to hold the FBI and Director Christopher Wray in contempt of Congress because they have not complied with a subpoena for the 1023 form. The subpoena is related to an investigation into allegations of corruption and influence peddling by members of Biden’s family, which Comer’s committee is leading.
According to Wray, sharing the form could disclose FBI sources and intelligence gathering techniques that are sensitive. Wray had discussions with Comer and Sen. Chuck Grassley (R-IA) recently, where he provided them with an opportunity to review the form. However, he declined to hand over the form. It’s worth noting that the form, though unclassified, could potentially cause harm.
“Today, FBI Director Wray confirmed the existence of the FD-1023 form alleging then-Vice President Biden engaged in a criminal bribery scheme with a foreign national,” Comer released a statement following the call with Wray. “However, Director Wray did not commit to producing the documents subpoenaed by the House Oversight Committee.”
“While Director Wray — after a month of refusing to even acknowledge that the form existed — has offered to allow us to see the documents in person at FBI headquarters, we have been clear that anything short of producing these documents to the House Oversight Committee is not in compliance with the subpoena,” he said.
According to a statement by the FBI, Director Wray is attempting to fulfill the lawmakers’ request while safeguarding the privacy and protection of sources and significant investigative data.
Currently, there isn’t much information about the 1023 form except what was disclosed during an interview with Comer on Newsmax. Comer mentioned that the form alleges that Biden received a $5 million bribe from a foreign country while serving as Vice President under Obama. He also clarified that the country was not China, Romania, or Ukraine, which the committee previously found financial connections to the Biden family.
“The most reputable country that the Biden family was taking money from was China, if that tells you anything,” Comer said.
