So if you haven’t heard already, Jussie Smollett, an actor on the show “Empire” was assaulted in Chicago by two men carrying a noose and some “chemical substance”.

And of course, this is being blamed on Trump supporters.

According to TMZ,

“Empire” star Jussie Smollett was brutally attacked by 2 men who beat him up, put his head in a noose and screamed, “This is MAGA country.”

Sources directly connected to Jussie tell TMZ, the actor arrived in Chicago from New York late Monday, and at around 2 AM he was hungry and went to a Subway. We’re told when shortly after he walked out on his way home, someone yelled, “Aren’t you that f***ot ‘Empire’ n*****?”

The 2 men – both white and wearing ski masks — viciously attacked Jussie as he fought back, but they beat him badly and fractured a rib. They put a rope around his neck, poured bleach on him and as they left they yelled, “This is MAGA country.”

If a person or Trump supporter is watching Empire enough to recognize an actor, then more than likely he’s not a racist.

Also, the fact that they had masks and rope means they either knew he would be there and it was premeditated, which is hard to believe because he made an unplanned trip to subway, or racists in Chicago are bolder than we think to walk around in masks with rope in hand, and just so happened to cross paths with a person they had very little chance to recognize….and somehow knew enough about TV show, that doesn’t really attract many racists, to recognize the man and attack him.

Not to mention the whole Polar Vortex thing happening in the Midwest and that the temperature was WELL below freezing.

“As the Chicago Police Department continues its investigation into the reported attack on gay TV actor Jussie Smollett, officials seem to be growing skeptical with the CPD noting that it has found no “obvious people” who could be suspects in the attack.

Rob Elgas, a reporter for Chicago’s ABC affiliate, took to Twitter this afternoon to note that the Chicago police are reviewing area video surveillance and have so far found no one who could be an obvious suspect in the attack.

“As Chicago police expand their search for the men who allegedly attacked Jussie Smollett,” Elgas tweeted, adding, “a spokesman says this morning there have been ‘no obvious people that could be assailants’ discovered. Detectives have poured over hundreds of hours of surveillance video.””

Also, the Chicago Police Department has explicitly stated that there is no record that any racial or homophobic slurs were shouted against the actor.

Several media outlets referenced claims that appeared in TMZ’s coverage of this matter, most notably that the perpetrators were white and yelled “this is MAGA country,” as they attacked Smollett. But a spokesperson for the Chicago police denied having any information about the race and political views of the attackers.

“According to the victim, the offenders’ faces were concealed,” a police spokesperson told Reason. “We have no record indicating that [they shouted ‘MAGA’], we only have record of them shouting racial and homophobic slurs at him.”

Chicago police have also released a statement contradicting claims that Smollett identified his attackers’ race and heard them shout “MAGA.”

“We have no record of The MAGA Country comment,” said the police in a statement. “We have racial and homophobic comments documented.”

So you mean to tell me that the police have combed through hundreds of hours of footage and found nothing? And the police have no record of racial and homophobic slurs?

Get real. It’s another fake news story by the mainstream media.
