Elon Musk Not Only Saves Ukraine’s Internet, He May Save the International Space Station and Another Country
I’ll be honest with you all. Elon Musk is one of my favorite people on this planet in terms of a well-known figure.
I don’t know him personally, but I know about him and I know enough about him to like him.
There are certainly some things that he does which I don’t agree with and I do think that he does make some bad decisions, but overall, he’s a great guy who is truly interested in helping humanity.
His creativity and ingenuity have come in incredibly handy and will continue to do so for decades, if not centuries to come.
We already saw how he has helped the conflict in Ukraine by providing internet terminals for the Starlink internet connectivity. Nobody has this internet yet, yet he’s activated it for Ukraine in order to help them at this tough time. There is literally nobody else in the entire world who could have done this.
But this may not even be his only contribution to the preservation of Ukraine.
In a series of tweets, the head of Russia’s space agency said that the ISS might fall out of orbit without Russian support.
“If you block cooperation with us, who will save the ISS from an uncontrolled de-orbit and fall into the United States or Europe?” Rogozin tweeted in Russian, according to a translation. “There is also the option of dropping a 500-ton structure to India and China. Do you want to threaten them with such a prospect? The ISS does not fly over Russia, so all the risks are yours.”

It’s actually possible that if Russia removes their portion of the ISS that SpaceX could attach one of their rockets to keep the trajectory stabilized in order to prevent it from crashing into the Earth.
For those who may not understand this, the reason that satellites stay in orbit around the earth is because the speed at which they travel is greater than the force of gravity pulling it toward the Earth.
It is in a constant state of falling toward our planet, but because of the speed at which it travels, it never crashes into it.
Imagine something like a roulette wheel and you launch a ball around it. It doesn’t immediately fall toward the middle because the speed overcomes the gravitational force of being pulled toward the center of the wheel. But once that speed decreases and gravity takes over, it comes down to rest in its position. Now, imagine that you could keep a constant speed on that ball; it would never fall. And that’s how satellite orbits work.
And just think, if the Democrats had their way, none of this would be possible because he would have been taxed to death and not have enough money to take these sorts of risks.
