Elon Exposes Corrupt Gov Invading Your Privacy via Twitter
If you thought your private messages on Twitter were safe from prying eyes, think again. In a shocking revelation, Twitter CEO Elon Musk has claimed that the U.S. government had “full access” to users’ direct messages (DMs) on the platform, and that he was unaware of this until he bought the company last year.
Musk made this startling statement in an interview with Tucker Carlson of Fox News, which will air on Monday and Tuesday night. He said that he was stunned to discover the extent of government interference in Twitter’s operations, and that he had no idea that they could read users’ DMs.
“The degree to which government agencies effectively had full access to everything that was going on on Twitter blew my mind,” Musk said. “I was not aware of that.”
“Would that include people’s DMs?” Carlson asked.
“Yes,” Musk confirmed.
This means that the government could potentially spy on anyone who uses Twitter, and access their personal and private conversations without their knowledge or consent. This is a gross violation of privacy and civil liberties, and raises serious questions about the integrity and security of the platform.
Musk, who acquired Twitter for $44 billion in November 2022, has been trying to reform the company and make it more transparent and accountable. He has also vowed to protect free speech and allow users to express themselves without censorship or interference.
However, he has faced resistance and backlash from some former employees and journalists, who have leaked internal documents and emails that expose Twitter’s previous ties to government agencies and its suppression of certain stories and viewpoints.

One of the most notorious examples of this was Twitter’s decision to block The New York Post’s reporting on Hunter Biden’s laptop scandal in October 2020, which revealed his shady business dealings with foreign entities and his father’s possible involvement. Twitter claimed that the story violated its policy on hacked materials, but later admitted that it was a mistake.
According to Matt Taibbi, a former Rolling Stone journalist who obtained some of the leaked documents, the decision to censor The Post’s story was made “at the highest levels of the company” and “everyone knew it was f–ked.”
Taibbi also reported that Twitter sought guidance from several government agencies, including the CIA, before deciding to ban former President Donald Trump from the platform following the Capitol riot on January 6, 2021. He said that Twitter had been collaborating with the CIA for years on content moderation issues.
Musk’s interview with Carlson is a must-watch for anyone who cares about their privacy and freedom online. It exposes the dark side of Twitter and its cozy relationship with the government, and shows how Musk is trying to change that for the better.
