Daniels Interview Revisited Amid NYC Case
During the time Trump was in office there were several investigations and lawsuits brought against him.
Stormy Daniels, with her – now defunct – attorney Michael Avennatti, took part in several interviews, and now one of those interviews is raising eyebrows.
Bill Maher, a well-known comedian and commentator, has recently stirred up a hornets nest after he dug up an old segment on his show “Real Time” where he interview Stormy Daniles in 2018.
Some believe that the clip could be an issue because some of what she says in the 2018 interview counters what she said during the trial.
In the 2018 interview, Daniels spoke about her alleged encounter with Trump in July 2006. She described the incident as completely consensual and stressed that it should not be seen as part of the MeToo movement. Daniels was adamant that she wasn’t assaulted or coerced, and she believed that others were trying to mischaracterize her story to advance their own purposes.
However, Maher highlighted that Daniels’ recent court testimony seems to tell a different story. Now, she talks about feeling a power imbalance and being so overwhelmed during the encounter that she wanted to leave. She even mentioned that she was shaking and “blacked out” for a time. These new details are a sharp departure from her earlier description of the events.
Maher used the segment to question the consistency of Daniels’ narrative. He pointed out the use of what he called “MeToo buzzwords” in her current testimony, which contrasts significantly with her past statements where she denied any victimization.
In 2018, Daniels told Maher that she was *not* “assaulted… attacked or r*ped or coerced or blackmailed” by Trump. During the trial, however, Daniels claims she “blacked out” and said Trump was “blocking the way.”
“You really think she blacked out? A p*rn star is used to having s*x with people she does not know. That’s the job. She’s not a good witness,” Maher said.

Maher noted that Daniels’ comments from 2018 were completely different than what she said in the New York trial last week.
