Democrat Claims to Know When Nancy Pelosi Will Retire – Who Would Replace Her?
We’ve been talking over the past six months or so about Nancy Pelosi and the upcoming midterm elections. One of the rumors that has been going around in Washington DC has been that Nancy Pelosi will not seek another term as speaker of the house.
So the question sort of arises well why not? Well, we may have just gained some insight into this question and what is in store for Nancy Pelosi in the upcoming midterm elections and after.
One Democrat said that there are going to be a lot of Democrats who cycle their way out in the upcoming midterms. He believes that one of these people is actually going to be Nancy Pelosi.
“My gut would tell me that this would be her last term,” Democratic House Budget Committee Chairman John Yarmuth, D-Ky., told The Hill. “I see a lot of people who would be the presumed successors donating a lot of money to their colleagues.”
…..
At least 23 Democratic legislators are set to retire or run for a different office this year, destabilizing the party’s rank and file lawmakers.
Additionally, increasing tensions between the far-left faction of the party and more moderate Democrats have produced a disconnect in messaging.
Despite occasional cooperation on policy, progressive members of the “Squad” have taken swipes at Pelosi’s leadership, making the future of Democratic leadership pivotal for defining a path forward for the Democrats.
Because so many people actually believe that Nancy Pelosi will not be speaker of the house after the midterm elections they start speculating on who they think should take over that spot and they have proposed people like House Majority Leader Steny Hoyer as well as House Majority Whip James Clyburn.
But this all assumes that the Democrats will maintain their majority position over the House of Representatives. I wouldn’t be so sure about that. I’m hopeful that the Republicans can stop another steal from taking place and that we could potentially see a House Speaker Donald Trump!
