A video recently surfaced of a group of teenagers beating up a girl who is mentally disabled.

There were plenty of people around to stop the incident from occurring, but all anyone did was laugh, mock, and record the beat down.

“They beating her,” said one of the teens while laughing as they beat up the girl.

According to the New York Post,

A mentally disabled girl was ruthlessly beaten by a group of teens in Chicago as bystanders cruelly laughed and recorded the assault, disturbing video shows.

A 42-second clip posted to social media on Monday shows the girl, 15, walking with a group of several other girls and at least one boy when one of the girls suddenly punches her from behind.

A witness who was already recording the teens walking then immediately starts laughing as the other girls — as many as five at one point — join the unprovoked attack…

The graphic footage, which has been viewed more than 5.1 million times, ends as her screams for help and someone appears to grab her hand to get her back on her feet.

One of her friends later posted the footage in hopes of getting “justice” for the girl, whose mental disability has progressed since her mother died, according to the now-viral post.

What has society come to when beating up someone who is mentally disabled something to be admired and respected? All this does is show how much of a coward and a crappy person they really are.

It’s been reported that the reason for the attack was because the girl was talking to the police.

So what?

Something else that’s bad is that the day after the attack, the victim went missing. She has since been found safe and is back with her family.

But think about it just a minute. Why do you think she was missing? This girl was probably so upset and embarrassed by the event that she felt she needed to leave or run away.
