Brittney Griner Feeling More Patriotic After Russian Imprisonment
Is that what it takes for Americans to wake up to how good they have it here in the good ol’ U.S. of A.? Even though we are dealing with some big problems here in the United States, this is still the best country to live in. Liberals can complain all they want about how oppressed they are, but they are soft and have never experienced having to go through hard times.
This is why being imprisoned in Russia may have been a bit of a wake up call for Brittney Griner. I guess spending a year in a Russian prison can change a person. Prior to a preseason basketball game over the weekend, the national anthem was played and she said that it “it different” this time around.
“Hearing the national anthem, it definitely hit different,” Griner said. “It’s like when you go for the Olympics, you’re sitting there, about to get gold put on your neck, the flags are going up, and the anthem is playing, it just hits different.”
Phoenix Mercury coach Vanessa Nygaard agrees.
“We looked at each other, and we just had chills,” Nygaard said. “We were here last year for all of it. I’m getting emotional about it now. Just to see her back out there — it’s an absolute miracle. It was amazing. It’s giving me chills again.”
Now, is all of this enough to wake her of her woke stupor entirely and realize that Democrats are the biggest threat to our country? I seriously doubt it, but maybe it’s a stepping stone on the right path. Just think, back in 2020, Griner said that the national anthem shouldn’t be played at sporting events at all and was showing solidarity to the BLM movement, even while they were wrecking our country by burning it to the ground…literally.
