Bill Barr Trashes Trump, Predicts More Indictments
In a recent appearance on ABC’s “This Week,” former US Attorney General Bill Barr made headlines for his scathing comments about former President Donald Trump. Barr went as far as to suggest that there is a high probability that Trump will be indicted on more federal obstruction charges.
While Barr criticized the Manhattan District Attorney’s case against Trump, he warned that the Special Counsel Jack Smith’s investigation into classified documents stored at Mar-a-Lago could pose a much greater threat to the former president. Barr stated that Trump should be most concerned about the Mar-a-Lago documents case, which he referred to as a “serious potential case.”
Reports indicate that Smith has “new and significant evidence” of potential obstruction by Trump in relation to the Mar-a-Lago documents case. Specifically, Smith has allegedly obtained emails and texts from a former Trump aide that suggest Trump may have rummaged through his boxes of classified documents after being subpoenaed by the Justice Department in May of 2022.
Barr weighed in on the matter, stating that he believes Trump was “jerking the government around” by not complying with the subpoena and that the government is now investigating whether there was obstruction involved in Trump’s refusal to turn over the documents.
Biden’s Justice Department has yet to bring any charges against Trump, leading many to speculate that they may be hoping to get him on obstruction charges. However, Barr dismissed these efforts as politically motivated, stating that the government’s investigation into the Mar-a-Lago documents case is the only one of merit. He went as far as to suggest that the Manhattan District Attorney’s case against Trump is nothing more than an “abuse of prosecutorial power” aimed at achieving a political end.

In my opinion, if there is an sort of potential indictment there for Trump, then there has to also be one for Mike Pence and Joe Biden because classified documents were found at their residences as well.
