In an interview with Fox News’ Shannon Bream on Sunday, Trump’s Attorney General, William Barr, stated that he was personally involved in the investigation of the Biden Ukraine bribe FD-1023 during the summer of 2020.

Bream did not ask Barr why he didn’t inform the public before the presidential election that Joe Biden was accused of accepting a $5 million bribe from the Ukrainian energy company Burisma while he was serving as vice president. This accusation suggests that he used his position to influence U.S. foreign policy in Ukraine and to have a prosecutor investigating Burisma fired while Hunter Biden, his son, was on the company’s board.

Bream’s objective in the interview seemed to be to prompt Barr to criticize President Trump regarding the prosecution of classified documents. The inquiries about FD-1023 were inserted almost at the conclusion of the interview without any reference to the allegation that Joe Biden had accepted a $5 million bribe or that it was associated with Burisma.

Barr did not mention Joe Biden by name, but he did disclose that the information regarding the alleged bribery involving Biden was highly credible. The Pittsburgh U.S. Attorney’s office conducted a thorough investigation and then shared the information with multiple offices, including the Delaware U.S. Attorney’s office.

Barr restated his previous statement that the investigation into alleged Biden bribery was not stopped by the Pittsburgh U.S. Attorney’s office. Additionally, Barr stated that it was the Pittsburgh U.S. Attorney’s office that created the FD-1023 form, which FBI Director Christopher Wray has been trying to prevent House Oversight Committee Chairman James Comer (R-KY) from obtaining.

In the summer of 2020, Barr stated that the FD-1023 information did not originate from Rudy Giuliani and demonstrated a thorough understanding of the situation.

“…the Pittsburgh office vetted it. They did some great work. They actually went back and developed more, more information that apparently had been overlooked by the FBI and they developed this 1023 that, that has a lot of detail. And then they, they took it to the, uh, Delaware and to other offices and briefed them on it for, for their use and for follow-up.”

“…this did not come from Rudy Giuliani, it actually came from the FBI.”
