Biden Planning to Cripple US Power Grid
It’s another day in the land of the free and the home of the brave—or should I say, the land of the dimmed and the home of the energy-deprived? According to Stephen Moore’s op-ed in the New York Post, Joe Biden has just pledged to shut down a whopping 60% of America’s electric power.
Now, don’t get me wrong, I’m all for saving the planet. But isn’t there a better way to do it than by plunging us into darkness? The Biden administration, in their infinite wisdom, announced at the COP28 conference in Dubai that they will stop production of all new coal plants in the United States. And if that wasn’t enough, they’re also planning to “sharply reduce methane from the oil and natural gas industry.” So, essentially, no more coal and no more natural gas. Period.
Here’s what they’re not telling you though: Eradicating coal and natural gas plants will decimate America’s electric power capacity. We’re talking rolling blackouts and brownouts across the country—much like we’ve already seen in California, the poster child of radical anti-fossil fuel policies. Imagine hospitals, schools, and factories being routinely shut down when the unreliable wind and solar power aren’t delivering enough juice. Sounds like a party, doesn’t it?
And let’s not forget about the Biden administration’s grand plan to electrify our entire vehicle fleet. Because nothing says “smart planning” like doubling the demand on the electric grid while simultaneously shutting down over half of the nation’s power generation. I mean, who needs logic when you’ve got virtue signaling, am I right?
The saddest part is, all this sacrifice won’t even make a dent in global greenhouse gas emissions. because our dear friends in China aren’t playing ball. They’re building new coal-fired plants faster than we can shut ours down. And let’s not kid ourselves, their coal plants aren’t exactly the epitome of cleanliness. So, while we’re freezing in our homes and fumbling in the dark, they’ll be toasting to our naivety.
So, here’s a thought…instead of playing this dangerous game of unilateral energy disarmament, how about we invest in cleaner technologies and smarter strategies? Because right now, it seems like the only thing we’re protecting ourselves from is the comfort and convenience of modern life. And last time I checked, that’s not a sacrifice any of us signed up for.
