American Christmas Classic Coming Back to Theaters!
One of my favorite movies to watch every year is “It’s a Wonderful Life”. It is my favorite movie of all time. I don’t just mean that it’s my favorite Christmas movie to watch, I mean it’s my favorite movie.
I’m a very nostalgic person and watching that movie just sends me back to a simpler time. A time when people cared about one another more. A time where shame and honor still meant something. That’s not the case today. People feel no shame anymore. They rob stores in broad daylight. They go to stores wearing their pajamas. Things were just much different back then and this movie reminds me of those good times.
It’s a Wonderful Life was first released 75 years ago. In fact, this year is the 75th anniversary of the film and to commemorate the release, Frank Capra’s classic will be hitting the theaters this year. The showings will be on December 18th and December 21st.
“Embraced as a cherished holiday tradition by families around the world, Frank Capra’s heart-warming masterpiece now celebrates 75 years with this big-screen event,” a description on the movie site read.
“George Bailey (James Stewart) sets aside his dreams of world travel to run his father’s small community bank, and protect the people of Bedford Falls from greedy businessman Mr. Potter (Lionel Barrymore),” it added. “When a costly mistake pushes George to the brink of despair, a visit from a kindly angel (Henry Travers) will show George how the life of one good man can change the world forever.”
If you’re one of the few people who has never seen this Christmas classic, I beg you to watch it this year. It would be even better to see it theaters if you’re able to do so. Think about it. Most of the people alive right now have never had that experience to see it in theaters. Take a look at the Fathom Events website to find a showing at a theater near you.
