Adam Schiff Facing Serious Repercussions for Russian Collusion Hoax
A resolution was introduced by Rep. Anna Paulina Luna (R-FL) suggesting that Rep. Adam Schiff (D-CA) be charged a $16 million fine for his claims about collusion between former President Donald Trump and Russia during the 2016 election, which Luna considers a severe breach of the American people’s trust.
“It is the obligation of House Leadership to back up this motion for the American people and hold this feckless man accountable,” Rep. Luna said in a statement. “This is a privileged resolution and it is the right thing for House Leadership to support and bring accountability and respect back to the House of Representatives. ALL Members of Congress must be held to this standard.”
Reports from special counsels Robert Mueller and John Durham have debunked the allegations of Trump-Russia collusion. The proposed fine, which amounts to roughly half of the cost incurred by taxpayers for the federal investigation, has been criticized by some. Representative Schiff had previously claimed that the evidence linking President Trump to the Russian collusion allegations was not circumstantial.
The resolution emphasizes that Schiff’s position as chair of the House Permanent Select Committee on Intelligence (HPSCI), which allows him to access classified information that other members cannot. This position allowed Schiff to “instigate a fraudulently based investigation, which he then used to amass political gain and fundraising dollars.”
The resolution includes various offenses such as the false memo by Representative Schiff to justify the FISA warrant application for Carter Page, later found by Inspector General Horowitz to have 17 significant mistakes and omissions. This misled the FISA Court Presiding Judge Rosemary Collyer and lead to a statement that the FBI had given false information to the FISC.
According to the resolution, Schiff accused Carter of collaborating with Russia and played a role in violating his civil liberties. Additionally, the resolution claims that Schiff presented a false version of a phone call between President Trump and Ukraine’s president. Recently, Luna introduced another resolution with the goal of removing Schiff from Congress based on his alleged misuse of power on the intelligence committee. This sounds like a really good idea to me.
