Here’s How the Mass Shootings Have Affected Gun Sales In El Paso
The Democrats are all pushing gun control as they normally do after mass shootings. That is unless those mass shootings happen somewhere like Chicago which they typically do.
But while they’re pushing to get rid of guns, the residents of El Paso have decided to take another route, the more American route.
Dozens of residents from El Paso have been swarming to gun shops and shooting ranges to purchase guns for themselves and to take lessons in shooting firearms and firearm safety.
They realize that they need to be able to protect themselves in times like these. And honestly, it could make all the difference in the world. Had there been an individual there who was armed and ready to fight back, the loss of life could have been far less than what it was.
According to the New York Post,
Michael McIntrye, general manager at the Gun Central store, told Reuters on Friday that his store tallied double its usual number of sales in the week following the Aug. 3 rampage.
Handguns, which can be strapped to the ankle or shoulder under clothing, accounted for most of the sales, the manager said.
“We actually had two people buy guns here who were actually in the Walmart on the day of the shooting,” McIntrye said. “The other people are just saying, ‘Hey, you know, I want to be able to protect myself in the event of something going on.’ This is not the last mass shooting we’re going to see.”
The shop also hosts classes for people interested in obtaining their concealed carry licenses — and the number of attendees has multiplied following the shooting, according to McIntrye.
“I have over 50 for this Saturday class and approximately the same amount for the Sunday class, and I normally have approximately seven,” McIntyre said.
This is how we protect our fellow Americans. Gun control doesn’t help anything because criminals don’t give a crap about gun control. When you make it harder for good law-abiding citizens to obtain and carry a firearm to protect themselves, you’re doing Americans a disservice.
