Man Wakes Up From His Own Funeral After Being Pronounced Dead
A man in northern India who had been declared dead suddenly woke up at his own funeral.
Mohammad Furquan was legally declared dead at a hospital in India after an accident back in June.
A few moments later and he would have been in deep trouble…literally. He woke up right before he was to be buried. Could you imagine the torture of being buried alive? His family had taken funeral insurance and they were starting to proceed with the funeral processes. But right before he could be buried he woke up. If you would like to know more about funeral insurances you can take a look at: funeral cover explained.
According to The Epoch Times,
Furqan had been unconscious since an accident in mid-June before he was declared dead. His family had told the hospital that they had run out of money to pay for his care, the news outlet reported.
Older brother Mohammad Irfan said the family was traumatized by the unusual turn of events.
Irfan told the Hindustan Times: “Devastated, we were preparing for the burial when some of us saw movement in his limbs. We immediately took Furqan to the Ram Manohar Lohia hospital where the doctors said he was alive and have put him on ventilator support.
“We had paid Rs 7 lakh [about $10,000] to the private hospital earlier and when we told them that we had run out of money, they had declared Furqan dead,” he said.
This sounds very shady to me.
What it really sounds like is that once the doctors found out that the family didn’t have any more money to pay the medical bills, they decided to just end the whole matter by declaring the man dead and getting him out of the hospital so they’re not wasting time, money, and resources on him when they’ll never recoup that money.
The family explained that this entire situation has left them traumatized not only for having to come to terms with his passing away but witnessing him awaken at his funeral.
Was the man really dead? Who knows. I wasn’t there so I definitely can’t say anything one way or the other.
