It seems like you can’t throw a rock nowadays without hitting something that Ilhan Omar shouldn’t have said.

Today is no different. This time it’s about Notre Dame Cathedral.

To give you a little background on this incident, Breitbart reported,

On Monday, a fire engulfed the ancient cathedral, destroying its timber roof, and bringing down the central spire. People all around the world watched in horror and prayed that the cathedral would be saved, and residents in Paris sang hymns and held a vigil.

The Vatican sent out a message of mourning on Monday, saying, “With shock and sadness, the Holy See received the news of the terrible fire that devastated the Cathedral of Notre Dame, symbol of Christianity in France and the world.”

“We extend our closeness to French Catholics and to the people of Paris and ensure our prayers for the firefighters and those who are doing all they can to deal with this tragic situation,” the Vatican said.

The cathedral is in the process of restoration and recently had sixteen bronze statues removed from the roof area to facilitate work. The fire appears to have started near the roof where work was taking place.

With the burning of Notre Dame Cathedral in Paris, France on Monday, Omar thought she would take to Twitter to share her “sentiments” if you can even call them that.

Omar tweeted on Monday,

“Art and architecture have a unique ability to help us connect across our differences and bring people together in important ways. Thinking of the people of Paris and praying for every first responder trying to save this wonder.”

It wasn’t too long before people started coming out of the woodworks to jump on Omar’s ridiculous tweet.

Dana Loesch replied, “Well, the “architecture” that the art was housed in is a cathedral. While Biblically Christ is wherever His people are, Notre Dame is a significant and storied icon of faith.”

The point that she’s grossly missing is that it is a place of worship for Roman Catholics. It is a cathedral where Catholics come to worship. Yet she shows her insensitivity by just referring to it as “art and architecture” and not even naming the place or the adherents of the religion.
