Hollywood Star Finally Pleads Guilty In College Bribery Scandal
It wasn’t long ago that we got the news that over a dozen people including celebrities were arrested and accused of bribery by paying to get their children into certain colleges.
Now, the first defendant has pled guilty, Felicity Huffman.
However, this has now brought her husband, William H. Macy into suspicion as well.
According to Fox News,
“Shameless” star William H. Macy was straight-faced as he hopped on his motorcycle Monday — just as his wife, Felicity Huffman, agreed to plead guilty in the college admission cheating scam and announced that she had “deep regret” and “shame” over what she had done.
The 69-year-old actor was spotted wearing dark pants, a white button-down shirt and shades as he walked outside of Los Angeles’ Century City Mall after his wife released an apology, according to People. Paparazzi images, which were obtained by the magazine, show Macy traveling through a parking garage before speeding off on his bike Monday afternoon.
Felicity Huffman actually released a statement after her appearance in the U.S. District Court in Boston on Monday saying,
“I am pleading guilty to the charge brought against me by the United States Attorney’s Office. I am in full acceptance of my guilt, and with deep regret and shame over what I have done, I accept full responsibility for my actions and will accept the consequences that stem from those actions.”
Huffman is accused of paying in the neighborhood of $15,000 in bribe money to get her daughter into college by rigging the college entrance exam.
She could possibly face a maximum of 20 years in prison, but more than likely won’t. She’ll probably get a few years of probation and a hefty fine.
Lori Loughlin, on the other hand, seems to be denying any foul play and this could turn out extremely bad for her if she is found guilty by evidence and I’m assuming that there is sufficient evidence based on how many people they were able to round up over this scandal.
