A wonderful thing has happened in the state of Colorado this week.

It looks like Jack Phillips, the owner of Masterpiece Cakeshop may finally have all this ridiculous court process ended finally.

On Tuesday, he went 2-0 after state officials dropped another case by others who tried to force him to violate his beliefs.

According to Fox News,

The state of Colorado and Jack Phillips, the owner of Masterpiece Cakeshop who won his case at the Supreme Court last June, have settled a case that seemed like deja vu.

The Colorado Civil Rights Commission dismissed administrative action against Phillips, and the Christian baker, represented by Alliance Defending Freedom (ADF), withdrew his federal court case against the state Tuesday afternoon. ADF claims the state dropped the case after evidence was presented that showed “ongoing hostility” toward religious freedom.

Mr. Phillips announced Tuesday that, “Today is a win for freedom. I’m very grateful and looking forward to serving my customers as I always have: with love and respect.”

“We’re pleased that the state has dismissed its case against Jack. This is the second time the state has launched a failed effort to prosecute him. While it finally appears to be getting the message that its anti-religious hostility has no place in our country, the state’s decision to target Jack has cost him more than six-and-a-half years of his life, forcing him to spend that time tied up in legal proceedings.”

The Daily Signal reported that,

On Tuesday, Colorado Attorney General Phil Weiser, a Democrat, announced the Colorado Civil Rights Commission was dropping its action and Phillips would drop his federal lawsuit. 

“After careful consideration of the facts, both sides agreed it was not in anyone’s best interest to move forward with these cases,” Weiser said in a statement. “The larger constitutional issues might well be decided down the road, but these cases will not be the vehicle for resolving them. Equal justice for all will continue to be a core value that we will uphold as we enforce our state’s and nation’s civil rights laws.”

This is a time to celebrate. Good has prevailed. Those who sought to do harm were unable to do so, at least to the degree in which they attempted.
