NAB Notifies De Niro Of Decision
Actor Robert De Niro’s decision to take part in a press conference outside of the New York City courthouse where former President Trump’s trial was in session has cost him.
The Hollywood crybaby will no longer be receiving an award from the National Association of Broadcasters (NAB) due to his recent controversial actions. The actor, known for his extreme diagnosis of TDS, held a press conference outside the Manhattan courthouse where former President Trump’s hush money trial was taking place. During his remarks, De Niro not only predicted that Trump would ruin New York City, America, and the world but also engaged in a heated exchange with Trump supporters, labeling them “gangsters” and calling one individual a “f***ing idiot.”
De Niro, who is now in his eighties, was originally set to receive the NAB Leadership Foundation’s Service to America Award in Washington, D.C., on Tuesday. However, the organization decided to rescind the invitation following the press conference. Alex Siciliano, NAB’s senior vice president of communications, explained the decision:
“This event is proudly bipartisan, uniting those from across the political spectrum to celebrate the impactful work of local broadcasters and our partners. While we strongly support the right of every American to exercise free speech and participate in civic engagement, it is clear that Mr. De Niro’s recent high-profile activities will create a distraction from the philanthropic work that we were hoping to recognize. To maintain the focus on service of the award winners, Mr. De Niro will no longer be attending the event.”
Siciliano added, “We look forward to a night of celebration honoring the exceptional work of broadcasters and our partners who make a difference in their communities every day.”
Despite the disinvitation, De Niro expressed his support for the NAB Leadership Foundation. He issued a statement to The Hill, saying, “I support the work of the NAB Leadership Foundation and would like to express my appreciation and gratitude for what the Foundation has done and will continue to do for the good of us all, and I wish them well for their continued good work.”
