AOC Loses It During Biden Impeachment Hearing, Throws Wild Temper Tantrum
In the high-stakes drama of the congressional impeachment inquiry against President Joe Biden, Representative Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY) stole the spotlight with a heated exchange that quickly escalated into a fiery temper tantrum on Wednesday.
Former business associate of Hunter Biden, Tony Bobulinski, testified before the House Oversight Committee this morning. Chairman James Comer (R-KY) had previously extended invitations to Bobulinski, alongside Hunter Biden and Devon Archer, another figure involved in the investigation; however, Biden and Archer did not attend.
“The majority party, or whomever is raising impeachment, must accuse the president of a high crime a specific high crime or misdemeanor,” said AOC. “This entire impeachment inquiry is based on an actual, provable individual who has lied.”
“Hunter Biden’s defense attorney, Abbe Lowell, weaponizes letters to Congress to try to smear my name and make the cold hard facts in an attempt to save his powerfully connected client and his father. I challenged Mr. Lowell to make those claims on national television so he can be held accountable for his lies,” Bobulinski said earlier in the hearing.
With Democrats largely viewing it as a politically motivated move ahead of the 2024 Presidential election, Republicans argue that it’s a necessary step to ensure accountability and transparency in the presidency. Primary concerns revolve around Hunter Biden’s past involvement with foreign companies and whether his father’s position influenced these dealings or policy decisions.
The business activities of Hunter Biden and Joe Biden’s brother, James Biden, have been under federal investigation, with a focus on tax affairs and potential foreign lobbying violations. These investigations have been part of a broader debate about the ethics of politicians’ family members engaging in international business.
