U.S. Marshalls Hand Delivered A Subpoena To Fani Willis After She Refused To Comply With Email Request
U.S. Marshals were tasked with hand-delivering a subpoena to Fani Willis after she rebuffed compliance with an email request, igniting a storm of controversy and casting doubts on her willingness to cooperate with authorities. The House Judiciary Committee had issued a subpoena on February 2, urging Willis to testify regarding alleged misuse of government funds, but she opted not to respond via email.
House Judiciary Committee Chair Jim Jordan expressed frustration with Willis’s lack of cooperation, noting multiple requests for documents related to the use of federal grant funds by the Fulton County District Attorney’s Office (FCDAO) since August 24, 2023.

According to a letter from Jordan, “On August 24, 2023, the Committee on the Judiciary wrote to you requesting documents in the custody of the FCDAO relating, in part, to its receipt and use of federal grant funds issued by the U.S. Department of Justice (DOJ).” He added, “Since that date, we have sent two additional letters, on September 27, 2023, and December 5, 2023, reiterating our requests. To date, you have failed to comply voluntarily with any of our requests.”
In response to Willis’s refusal to accept the subpoena electronically, U.S. Marshals were dispatched to hand-deliver the documents to her in person. This decision has sparked criticism, with an anonymous source quoted by the Daily Caller questioning Willis’s reluctance to accept service and deeming it a wasteful use of taxpayer resources. The source exclaimed, “Why wouldn’t Fani Willis just accept service like everyone else? Making the U.S. Marshal’s Service use taxpayer money to do this is a complete waste of time and resources. But we shouldn’t be surprised when it comes to her office.”
The House Judiciary Committee emphasized the urgency of acquiring all pertinent documents related to Willis’s office’s utilization of funds from various Department of Justice programs, including the Office of Justice Programs, Office of Juvenile Justice and Delinquency Prevention, and Office of Community Oriented Policing Services.
Moreover, Willis faces bipartisan scrutiny in Georgia due to her admitted relationship with Nathan Wade, who was appointed as a special prosecutor for her RICO case involving former President Trump. Allegations against Willis include providing Wade with lucrative contracts and misappropriating funds.
The situation underscores ongoing tensions surrounding accountability and transparency within the Fulton County District Attorney’s Office, particularly regarding the handling of government funds and professional relationships. As the investigation progresses, it is poised to shed further light on these issues and t
