Taylor Swift Issues Urgent Legal Threat: ‘Life-Or-Death Matter’
Taylor Swift’s legal team has issued an urgent threat against Jack Sweeney, a college junior, over his tracking of celebrities’ private jet movements. In a cease and desist letter, Swift’s attorneys accuse Sweeney of “stalking and harassing behavior,” stressing the severity of the situation as a “life-or-death matter” for their client.
Sweeney, a student at the University of Central Florida, has gained attention for monitoring the flights of public figures like Swift. His activities, which involve logging flight data and CO2 emissions, have sparked controversy regarding privacy and safety concerns.

The letter, drafted by attorney Katie Wright Morrone, emphasizes the distress caused to Swift and her family, highlighting their heightened fear for her safety. Morrone condemns Sweeney’s actions, stating, “While this may be a game to you… it is a life-or-death matter for our Client.”
In his defense, Sweeney argues for transparency and public awareness, stating that his intentions are not malicious. He asserts the public’s right to information, especially regarding the travel habits of prominent figures like Swift.
Sweeney also challenges claims made by Swift’s team regarding the minimal use of her jet, citing contradictions and public interest in the matter. He points to statements from sources like the Embassy of Japan in the USA, which indicate widespread attention to Swift’s travel.
Swift’s legal confrontation with Sweeney occurs amidst ongoing scrutiny over her carbon footprint. Despite efforts to offset emissions with carbon credits, questions persist regarding the environmental impact of her frequent private jet usage.
