Biden’s ‘Trust’ Crashes: Just 22% Believe Amid Corruption ‘Controversy’
The results of a recent Voter’s Voice Poll indicate a notable decline in confidence in President Joe Biden, with only 22% of likely voters expressing belief in his innocence regarding corruption allegations. The survey, conducted in early January with 2,573 Americans, encompasses a diverse range of political affiliations.
According to the poll, 34% of likely voters assert that Biden is “guilty of corruption and should be impeached.” An additional 35% advocate for the continuation of a Republican-led House investigation, citing uncertainty about whether the president committed any wrongdoing.
Within the Democratic ranks, opinions vary. While 40% believe in Biden’s innocence, demanding an immediate halt to the investigation, an equal percentage of Democrats express uncertainty about the allegations. Meanwhile, 9% of Democrats concede guilt on Biden’s part, supporting the call for impeachment. Another 8% remain undecided.
Even the segment identified as “true independents,” those who do not lean towards either end of the political spectrum, harbor suspicions. Among this group, 28% believe Biden is guilty, and an additional 35% remain uncertain but advocate for the investigation’s continuation.
The ongoing impeachment inquiry led by House Republicans is gaining broad support across party lines, with approximately half of Democrats endorsing the investigation. The inquiry has unearthed evidence supporting allegations that the Biden family, including President Biden’s son Hunter, accrued over $20 million from overseas entities.
The focus of the investigation centers on the extent of President Biden’s awareness and involvement in these dealings. Documents reveal a $240,000 payment from the Biden family to the president, although the purpose remains unclear. Whistleblowers from the Internal Revenue Service have testified to improper interference by Biden’s Department of Justice, potentially obstructing the investigation.
Despite Democrats dismissing the investigation as a political maneuver, and President Biden vehemently denying the allegations, the impact on his approval ratings is evident. The same poll indicates that 59% of likely voters disapprove of Biden’s presidency, with 58% expressing dissatisfaction with his handling of the economy – a crucial issue for voters.
Furthermore, the survey underscores the significance of the issue of “government corruption” for voters, with 21% ranking it among their top three concerns, surpassing national security and health care access but trailing behind illegal immigration and economic issues in importance.
