GOP Planning to Give Dems a Taste of Their Own Medicine
Following the Colorado Supreme Court’s decision to disqualify Trump from the state’s 2024 ballot, it seems like some GOP officials are ready to dish out a taste of their own medicine. And who’s on the receiving end? None other than Joe Biden himself.
Texas Lt. Governor Dan Patrick and Florida Governor Ron DeSantis have suggested that maybe, just maybe, Biden should be booted off the ballots in their states. Now, I don’t know about you, but I find this idea incredibly intriguing.
You see, the Colorado court ruled that Trump is banned from the state’s ballot for “inciting the crowd that breached the U.S. Capitol on January 6, 2021” and violating Section 3 of the Constitution’s 14th Amendment, known as the insurrection clause. But here’s where it gets interesting. Both Patrick and DeSantis argue that if we’re going by that logic, then Biden should be kicked off the ballot for his handling of the immigration crisis at the U.S.-Mexico border.
During an appearance on Fox News, Patrick said, “Seeing what happened in Colorado tonight, Laura, makes me think – except we believe in democracy in Texas – maybe we should take Joe Biden off the ballot in Texas for allowing eight million people to cross the border since he’s been president, disrupting our state far more than anything anyone else has done in recent history.”

DeSantis, who is running against Trump in the GOP primary for president, echoed similar sentiments during a campaign stop. He questioned, “There was no trial on any of this. They basically just said, what, you can’t be on the ballot? I mean, how does that work? What’s the limiting principle for that? Could we just say that Biden can’t be on the ballot because he let in eight million illegals into the country and violated the Constitution?”
So, there you have it. The political drama continues to unfold, and this latest episode is certainly one for the books. Will Biden be removed from the ballots in these Republican states? Only time will tell. but I doubt it.
