Republicans Storm Out of Senate After ‘Shameful’ Action, Congratulate Dems for ‘Destroying’ Judiciary Committee
Well, folks, it seems the drama in our nation’s capital has reached a new high. The Democrats, who’ve been desperately trying to gain control of the Supreme Court, have just hit an all-time low. And the Republicans? They’re not having it. They’ve stormed out of the Senate Judiciary Committee in response to what they’re calling a “shameful” action by their Democratic counterparts.
The Democrats were set on subpoenaing conservatives Leonard Leo and Harlan Crow. But instead of following the rules, they decided to go rogue. They ended the discussion without taking a vote on any Republican amendments, which is a clear violation of the Committee’s rules according to Sen. Tom Cotton (R-AR). They didn’t even bother discussing the nominations.
The Republicans were livid, to say the least. They slammed Illinois Senator Dick Durbin, who chairs the Senate Judiciary Committee. Sen. Cotton warned Durbin about the path he was heading down, but it all fell on deaf ears.
“Congratulations on destroying the United States Senate Judiciary Committee,” said Sen. John Cornyn (R-TX) in a searing statement. Meanwhile, Sen. Lindsey Graham (R-SC) blasted the Democrats for their “garbage” and condemned their attempts to use subpoenas to further their political agenda.

After the Republicans had left the hearing, the Democrats went ahead and cast their votes. They hoped that by not reaching a quorum, the subpoenas would be invalid.
But Harlan Crow wasn’t going to take this lying down. In a statement reported by Fox News, he said, “The Judiciary Committee Democrats’ violation of the Committee’s own rules to issue an invalid subpoena further demonstrates the unlawful and partisan nature of this investigation.”
Now, you may be wondering, where does this leave us? Well, it’s clear that the Democrats aren’t going to stop their lawless actions in the U.S. Senate anytime soon. They seem to have forgotten their love for the Constitution or the rules of the U.S. Senate. The Republicans have made their stand, but will it be enough to halt the Democrats in their tracks?
