Peter Doocy Puts Karine Jean-Pierre in a Corner After Bogus Claim
Americans are not buying into the Biden administration’s claims about the improving economy, according to Fox News White House correspondent Peter Doocy. During a press briefing, Doocy pressed White House Press Secretary Karine Jean-Pierre about whether Americans really believe that the economy is getting better.
Doocy began by asking Jean-Pierre if families had noticed things becoming less expensive during their Thanksgiving gatherings. As reported by the Daily Wire, Jean-Pierre responded by claiming that prices for many key items had decreased.
In response, Doocy asked, “So, is it your sense that when people are home for Thanksgiving… they were saying to each other, ‘Can you believe how much more affordable things have gotten?'”
Jean-Pierre reiterated that the Biden administration takes families’ financial decisions very seriously, but insisted that data shows the economy is improving and households are in a strong financial position. However, Doocy challenged this narrative, asking why most Americans outside of the White House don’t seem to agree with this assessment.
Doocy: “But why do you think it is that when you say the economy is improving, and President Biden says the economy is improving that a majority of Americans outside of this building are not buying it?”

Jean-Pierre blamed the ongoing economic hardships on the pandemic and the previous Trump administration. She claimed that Biden’s American Rescue Plan has enabled small businesses and schools to reopen, contributing to an economic recovery. However, she admitted that it will take time to fully resolve the issues left by the previous administration.
However, Jean-Pierre’s explanation doesn’t align with the experiences of many Americans. Despite the administration’s assertions, many are feeling the pinch of increased prices for goods and services. This disconnect between the administration’s narrative and the reality felt by ordinary citizens is causing frustration and skepticism.
The interaction between Doocy and Jean-Pierre serves as a stark reminder of the gap between political rhetoric and the lived experiences of everyday Americans. While the Biden administration insists that the economy is on the upswing, many Americans are struggling to make ends meet amid rising costs.
It’s essential for the administration to address these concerns head-on and take tangible steps to improve the economic situation. Americans need more than reassurances – they need results. Only then will they start buying into the narrative of an improving economy.
