WATCH: Grammy-Nominated Singer Almost Kicked Off Flight for ‘Disturbance’
Bobbi Storm, a Grammy-nominated gospel singer, recently found herself in hot water on a Delta flight. The singer was nearly ejected from the plane after refusing to stop singing, an incident that has sparked a lively debate on social media.
Storm, who is part of the gospel group Maverick City Music, had just received news of her two Grammy nominations for Best Gospel Album and Best Contemporary Christian Music Performance/Song at the 2024 Grammy Awards. Eager to share her joy and her music with those around her, she began to sing her song ‘We Can’t Forget Him’ onboard the flight.
However, her performance was cut short by a Delta flight attendant, who instructed her to “sit down” and “be quiet.” Storm refused to comply, insisting that the other passengers were “enjoying it.” The situation escalated when the flight attendant asked her if she was “willing and able to be quiet right now.” Despite her justifications that she was “doing what the Lord is telling me to do,” the flight attendant threatened to remove her from the flight if she did not follow his instructions.

This confrontation was captured in a video posted on social media by Storm, which has since gone viral. Reactions to the incident have been mixed. Some viewers supported Storm’s right to express her joy and share her talent. However, many criticized her behavior as “egotistical” and “entitled.”
One top Instagram comment on the video said, “This is one of the most egotistical things I’ve ever seen. You think because you’re Grammy nominated that rules don’t apply to you and the plane is your stage? Work on that ego sis.”
In a follow-up video, Storm claimed that “Delta executive offices did reach out” to her to apologize. She insisted she didn’t want the crew member fired, but hoped he learned a valuable lesson on how to treat other people.
