Democrat State Senator Keys Car with Anti-Biden Bumper Sticker, Gets Slap on Wrist
It seems that these days, if you’re not a Democrat, you may face more severe legal consequences for committing a crime. A recent example of this occurred in Rhode Island, where a Democrat state senator, Joshua Miller, received only a light punishment for vandalizing a private citizen’s car and misleading police after he was caught for allegedly keying a car with a “Biden Sucks” bumper sticker in late June.
When questioned by the police initially, Miller alleged that the victim might have been a “gun enthusiast” who was aware of his position as a state senator and had fabricated the entire episode. In other words, Miller used a reverse “Do you know who I am?” tactic. However, a review of the video seems to suggest that he was not telling the truth.

This week, the judge has ordered him to pay $3,000 restitution to the victim as he entered a no-contest plea deal. If he manages to avoid any criminal trouble for the rest of the year, the conviction will be removed from his record.
“I am truly sorry for my actions in this matter, and I am disappointed in my behavior and lack of judgment,” he told reporters outside a courthouse, according to Fox News.
“In a blink of an eye, I exhibited a lack of self-control that has impacted my reputation,” Miller added. “For that, I only have myself to blame as I am solely responsible for what led to today’s court proceedings.”
The decision was criticized by Joe Powers, the chair of Rhode Island’s GOP.
“It’s another case of politics as usual in the Ocean State,” Joe Powers said in a statement to Fox News. “In pure Rhode Island political fashion, another Democrat gets off with a slap on the wrist and retains his chairmanship of the powerful Health and Human Services Committee and committee assignments with no recourse.”
