Fusion GPS Withheld 1500 Docs from Durham
According to reports, Fusion GPS, which was hired by Hillary Clinton’s 2016 campaign, did not provide over 1,500 documents to Special Counsel John Durham during his investigation into the FBI’s Russia probe. The reason for withholding these documents was cited as attorney-client privilege, which many legal experts have challenged.
As per the initial report, it was mentioned that Durham did not resort to legal measures to obtain the documents.
On Friday, Paul Sperry, a senior reporter for Real Clear Investigations, broke the news on Twitter, stating, “BREAKING: Hillary Clinton campaign contractor Fusion GPS held back more than 1,500 DOCUMENTS sought by Special Counsel Durham, claiming attorney-client privilege, and Durham didn’t sue for the evidence.”

The news is causing worries about how much the Clinton campaign was involved in the Russia investigation and if they tried to keep back any potentially damaging information. It is worth noting that even though Fusion GPS declined to help, Durham did not take legal action to obtain the evidence, which has surprised many people in the legal and political spheres. The situation is also noteworthy because the Federal Election Commission had previously ruled against the Clinton campaign for using a similar legal argument to hide information, which adds to the concerns.
According to Sperry’s tweet, ex-CIA analyst Nellie Ohr created a list of Trump associates who were investigated. The list was later given to Michael Sussmann and Rodney Joffe, who were Clinton lawyers. The individuals listed on the document included Paul Manafort, Carter Page, Roger Stone, and their families.

Sperry highlighted that a considerable number of prosecutors in Durham’s team were Republicans and had formerly backed Mitt Romney and John McCain. He implied that their political inclinations might be the reason behind their failure to vigorously investigate the FBI and DOJ authorities who targeted Trump and focusing instead on Democratic activists. If this claim is supported with evidence, it could have a substantial effect on both the credibility of the investigation and people’s trust in the judicial procedures.
DEVELOPING: FEC records show virtually all of Durham's prosecutors were Romney/McCain Republicans, which means they likely had little sympathy for Trump. Explains the lack of aggression going after FBI/DOJ officials who targeted Trump and the focus on Democratic activists instead

The report by Special Counsel John Durham on the Trump-Russia investigation, nicknamed “Operation Crossfire Hurricane,” was released on May 15. Durham found no solid evidence of collusion during the investigation’s beginning. The report also revealed that there was no record in FBI files indicating communication between Russian intelligence officials and any Trump campaign member during the campaign period.
The FBI did not get a FISA warrant to spy on George Papadopoulos, who was an adviser for Trump’s campaign. The Steele dossier’s claims could not be proven. A report revealed that high-ranking Obama administration officials, like Joe Biden, were informed of Hillary Clinton’s alleged plot to create a fake story linking Trump to Russia during the 2016 presidential race. Rep. Jim Jordan has asked for Durham to testify after the report was issued.
The complex developments involving Fusion GPS withholding of documents, Trump associates being targeted, and a potential bias within Durham’s team suggest a connection between political maneuvering and obfuscation. This case highlights the unclear relationship between politics and justice in our modern era. It is uncertain whether these developments will prompt a review of the FBI’s Russia probe.
