A Big Win for Womens’ Sports and Dems HATE IT!
The House of Representatives has taken a bold step to protect the integrity and fairness of women’s sports by passing a bill that would ban men from competing in athletic programs or activities designated for women or girls. The bill, introduced by Rep. Greg Steube (R-FL), passed with no support from Democrats, who have sided with the radical agenda of the Biden administration to erase biological sex and impose gender ideology on schools and sports.
The bill, titled the Protection of Women and Girls in Sports Act, would amend Title IX of the Education Amendments of 1972 to define sex as “recognized based solely on a person’s reproductive biology and genetics at birth.” This would ensure that only biological females can participate in women’s sports at federally funded schools and educational institutions. The bill would also prohibit schools from allowing men to practice against women’s sports teams, unless it does not deprive female athletes of any opportunities.
The bill is a response to the growing threat of transgender athletes, who are biologically male but identify as female, dominating women’s sports and taking away scholarships, awards, and recognition from female athletes. Transgender athletes have an inherent physical advantage over female athletes, due to their higher levels of testosterone, muscle mass, bone density, and lung capacity. This advantage is not eliminated by hormone therapy or surgery, as some studies have shown.
According to Breitbart News, more than 20 states have already passed or are considering similar legislation to protect women’s sports from transgender invasion. However, the Biden administration has signaled its opposition to such laws, and has issued an executive order and a guidance document that interpret Title IX to include gender identity as a protected category. This means that schools that do not allow transgender athletes to compete in women’s sports could face legal action or lose federal funding.
The House bill is unlikely to pass the Senate, where Democrats hold a slim majority and can block any legislation they do not agree with. The White House has also issued a veto threat, saying that the bill “would undermine civil rights protections for students” and “harm transgender youth.” However, the House vote shows that Republicans are standing up for women and girls, and are not afraid to challenge the radical left’s agenda to destroy the biological basis of sex and gender.
