This week, Ray Epps’ lawyer sent a letter to Tucker Carlson demanding that the latter retract his statements regarding the J6 insurrection leader by the end of March. The letter claimed that the comments made by Tucker Carlson were false and defamatory. Furthermore, it advised FOX News to keep all communications related to Tucker Carlson’s agreement with Speaker Kevin McCarthy for viewing footage from January 6th.

Tucker Carlson has referenced Ray Epps multiple times on his program and in interviews regarding the Fed-surrection, claiming that he was leading Trump supporters to the US Capitol. In addition, in a recent interview, Tucker stated that Epps was “clearly working for somebody”. This is supported by video footage which numerous times captures Epps encouraging Trump supporters to enter the US Capitol building. Even more remarkable is that Ray Epps could be seen leading these people through two separate sets of barricades but never got arrested or reprimanded in any manner whatsoever.

The controversy began when Carlson alleged that Epps was secretly working with the government to provoke the Jan. 6 insurrection at the Capitol. In response, Epps’ lawyer sent a letter to Carlson demanding he retract these “false and defamatory statements” by March 31 or face legal action.

But there certainly seems to be some serious questions that just seem to never be answered. It seems so impossible that people who were there that day have been arrested and are still there, and for doing some of the most insignificant things, while Epps, who we’ve seen on video calling for going into the building and for participating in some of the actions that occurred that day, has never been arrested and never spend a single day behind bars. Whether or not he’s part of some bigger government plot to set up President Trump or some of his supporters is another question that we probably don’t have sufficient evidence to answer, but we should still find out.
