Kidnapper Taken Down by Students at Bus Stop
On Monday morning, a group of middle school students in Gaithersburg, Maryland bravely fought off an attempted kidnapping. According to Montgomery County Police, Jamaal Germany, 30, grabbed a student waiting for the bus and attempted to pull them toward an apartment building. The students quickly stepped in and managed to stop the suspect before he could take the child away.
The incident happened around 8:30 am on Towne Crest Drive near Washington Grove Lane in Gaithersburg. Detectives identified Germany as the suspect and arrested him shortly after. He was charged with attempted kidnapping and other related offenses.
The community was understandably distraught by the news of this attempted abduction. Parents were horrified that something like this could happen so close to home while their children were on their way to school. Fortunately, thanks to the quick thinking of these brave middle schoolers, no one was harmed during the incident.
The police department commended these students for their courage and thanked them for their help in apprehending Germany. They also encouraged parents to talk to their children about stranger danger and what they should do if they find themselves in a similar situation.
This story serves as an important reminder that we must always be aware of our surroundings and look out for each other’s safety. It is also a testament to how powerful young people can be when they come together in times of crisis. The actions of these students should be celebrated as an example of heroism and bravery in the face of danger.
This is just one more reason why homeschooling is a better option than sending your children to public schools. When they’re at home under your watch and care, there is no present danger in having something like this happen. The world we live in today is NOT what it once was when we were growing up. People are much more crazy now than they were 30 years ago.
