ICE Immigration Office Backlogged for Next Nine Years!
According to a report from the New York Post, the ICE office in NYC has been completely booked for over nine years. This means that any migrants who need to make an appointment with the office will have to wait until 2032 before they can do so.
This news comes at a time when immigration reform is desperately needed in the United States. The current system is broken and outdated, leaving many immigrants without access to basic rights and services. It also puts them at risk of being deported or detained without due process.
The backlog of appointments at the NYC ICE office shows just how dire the situation has become for immigrants in America. With no end in sight, it’s clear that something needs to be done to fix our broken immigration system.
Unfortunately, it doesn’t seem like anything will change anytime soon. Joe Biden has promised comprehensive immigration reform, but his plans have yet to come into fruition. Mostly because he doesn’t actually have a good plan. Until then, immigrants trying to get here legally will continue to suffer under an unfair and unjust system that fails to protect their rights or provide them with adequate resources while the illegal immigrants do as they please and get free everything because they broke our laws.
It’s heartbreaking to think about all of the people who are stuck waiting for an appointment with the NYC ICE office until 2032, and I’m talking about people who are trying to come over here legally through the proper channels. They deserve better than this. We must demand change and push for reforms that will make our immigration system more humane and just for everyone involved, and I’m talking about us Americans, too.
No one should have to wait nine years for an appointment with the ICE office—it’s simply unacceptable and a reflection of how broken our immigration system truly is. We must take action now if we want any chance of making things right again for immigrants in America.
