Bill Maher, host of HBO’s Real Time and longtime critic of former President Trump seems to a sufferer of Trump Derangement Syndrome himself. He recently revealed his fears that he could be put in Guantanamo Bay if Trump returns to the White House in 2024.

In an interview with CNN’s Jake Tapper, Maher expressed his apprehension about the possibility of a second term for the ex-President. He said, “I am afraid of Trump on a very personal level because I don’t think he likes me. I understand why. And I don’t know what he would do in a second term.”

The comedian also recalled the negative comments from Trump rallies directed at him. “He went on a tear for about eight months when he was president. Every time he’d have a rally, I have a list three pages long of the things he’s called me,” Maher said. On February 10th, 2021 Trump posted to Truth Social calling Maher “wacky liddle’ Bill Maher” and saying that he suffered from the same affliction as CNN: bad ratings.

Maher further seemed to suggest that if Trump were reelected, it could lead to an oppressive regime similar to those seen in other authoritarian countries. He noted, “you have to worry [about] when you see what other authoritarian rulers do in other countries to people…I’m not thinking he’s gonna become Putin and start pushing people out windows, but I’m not going to live on the 30th floor anywhere either.”

It is clear that Bill Maher has strong reservations regarding the possible election of Trump for a second term as President of the United States and is fearful for his own physical safety should it occur. It’s also clear that he is not grounded in reality. When did Trump ever do something like that? When did he send anyone to Guantanamo Bay or punish anyone like that? Never. He’s worried about an oppressive regime from Trump, but he should wake up and smell the coffee that the Biden regime is brewing.
