Strange Video Emerges of Brittney Griner Being Swapped for ‘Merchant of Death’
We all know that the deal in which Joe Biden decided to exchange convicted Russian terrorist Viktor Bout aka the “Merchant of Death” was quite possibly the worst deal of the century, but there’s not much that we can do about it at this point.
Viktor Bout is a Russian businessman who has been accused of being a major arms dealer. He has been referred to as the “Merchant of Death” because of the large quantities of weapons he is alleged to have sold to various groups and governments around the world. In 2010, Bout was arrested in Thailand and extradited to the United States to face trial on charges of conspiracy to kill American citizens and officials, and other terrorism-related offenses. He was convicted in 2011 and was currently serving a 25-year prison sentence. But we traded a terrorist for a lousy basketball player who smuggled in some drugs into Russia. Seems like a fair trade, doesn’t it? Of course not.
But what is catching some people’s eye is what transpired during the trade, because the moment was captured on video. It’s so funny because it’s just like what you’d see in a movie when there is an exchange of this sort. There is a plane on a tarmac and both criminals, who have nothing to do with one another, are there and
In the video, Griner can be seen wearing a red jacket and walking across the tarmac with three men. Meanwhile, Bout walks towards her with another man by his side. The footage shows Bout shaking hands with a couple of people before there is a noticeable cut in the film. When the footage resumes, Griner can be seen walking away from Bout, leading some critics to speculate that the cut was made to hide the fact that Griner was poised to shake Bout’s hand.

“There’s a jump cut here at :13 as everyone is shaking hands and hugging and right before it looks like Griner maybe going in to shake hands with Bout?” political commentator Stephen L. Miller tweeted. “Probably not great optics there to have your star prisoner swap shaking hands with the most notorious arms dealer on the planet.”
Here’s the obvious question: if nothing controversial happened, then why edit the video at all?
