Late Night Talk Show Host Banned from Famous Restaurant, Labeled as “Most Abusive Customer Ever”
Recently, James Corden was banned from a well-known restaurant in NYC. The reason? Well, before I tell you why, let me just say that he was labeled the “most abusive customer ever.” This story provides a great opportunity to explore the importance of customer service and how even the most famous celebrities are not exempt from poor treatment.
No matter who you are, you deserve to be treated with respect. That’s why good customer service is so important. It’s the difference between a positive and negative experience, and it can make all the difference in the world.
Unfortunately, not all businesses place an emphasis on customer service. In some cases, it’s because they’re too busy or understaffed. Other times, it’s because the employees simply don’t care. Whatever the reason, it’s not an excuse. If a business can’t provide good customer service, then it needs to find a way to fix the problem.
In the case of James Corden, it’s hard to say exactly what went wrong…actually, it’s not, because the owner told us a couple instances regarding Corden’s behavior.
According to the Daily Wire,
[Kevin] McNally then provided two examples of what he claimed occurred at his restaurant by the late host.
The first post mentioned that in June, Corden was at Balthazar and “after eating his main course, Corden showed the hair to Balthazar manager G. who was very apologetic. Corden was extremely nasty to G, and said: ‘Get us another round of drinks this second. And also take care of all of our drinks so far. This way I write any nasty reviews in yelp or anything like that.’”
The second report stated that earlier this month, the talk show host was at the same restaurant with Corden’s wife who “ordered an egg yolk omelette with gruyere cheese and salad. A few minutes after they received the food, James called their server, M. K. and told her there was a little bit of egg white mixed with the egg yolk.”
“M. K. informed the floor manager, G,” McNally wrote. “The kitchen remade the dish but unfortunately sent it with home fries instead of salad. That’s when James Corden began yelling like crazy to the server: ‘You can’t do your job! You can’t do your job! Maybe I should go into the kitchen and cook the omelette myself!’”
“M.K. was very apologetic and brought G. over to the table,” he added. “He returned the dish, and after that, everything was fine. He gave them promo Champagne glasses to smooth things out. G. said that Corden was pleasant to him but nasty to the server.’ M.K. was very shaken, but professional that she is, continued to finish her shift.”
Whether you’re a celebrity or just a regular person, you deserve to be treated with respect and you are obligated to treat people with respect.
Customer service is important for everyone—celebrities included. No one deserves to be mistreated, regardless of the other person’s status or fame. If you find yourself in a situation where you’re being treated poorly, don’t hesitate to speak up and demand better treatment. You deserve nothing less.
