The battle for governor in Texas has been heating up. Beto O’Rourke, a looney toon Democrat, is very motivated to prevent Republican Governor Greg Abbott from being re-elected.

At every opportunity, O’Rourke has attacked Abbott, labeling him as radical, bigoted, and racist. Additionally, O’Rourke interrupted a press conference the governor had in Uvalde. This was obviously a publicity stunt.

The Texas Democrat’s strategy, meanwhile, doesn’t seem to be paying off for him. For starters, O’Rourke continues to trail Abbott in every poll that has followed this Texas gubernatorial contest.

Second, according to Newsmax, the Texas Democrat reportedly had to halt his campaign after contracting a bacterial infection.

Democrat Beto O’Rourke, who is battling incumbent Texas Gov. Greg Abbott for the state’s top office, announced on Sunday that he will be off the campaign trail indefinitely after being diagnosed with a bacterial infection, The Texas Tribune reported.

“While my symptoms have improved, I will be resting at home in El Paso in accordance with the doctors’ recommendations,” O’Rourke wrote in a tweet. “I am sorry to have had to postpone events because of this, but promise to be back on the road with you as soon as I am able.”

O’Rourke added that “after feeling ill on Friday, I went to Methodist Hospital in San Antonio where I was diagnosed with a bacterial infection.”

While my symptoms have improved, I will be resting at home in El Paso in accordance with the doctors’ recommendations.

O’Rourke has made it abundantly clear that he supports open borders, banning guns, COVID-19 mandates, and a number of other measures that many Texans oppose.

In an election where he was already trailing his rival, O’Rourke will inevitably suffer from the time he is forced to spend away from the campaign trail. At this point, Abbott’s reelection as governor of the Lone Star State is all but guaranteed.
