Saudi Arabia Gives Glimpse into $500 Billion “Smart City of the Future”
The Saudi prince has given us a glimpse into the future of what it to come in Saudi Arabia.
Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman is preparing the way for a “city of the future” that looks both really nice, but frightening as well. I think that a good horror movie could be made just by using the premise of this project.
The city will contain no roads, no cars, no emissions, and will be run on 100% renewable energy. Anything that you could possibly want, you’ll be able to walk to in about 5 minutes. If you wanted to go somewhere else within the 100 mile long structure, you can take the high-speed railway system that can take you from one end to the other in 20 minutes.
This thing will be enough to house 9 million people and all withing a slim area that eliminates many of our modern problems.
However, this seems like a dystopian nightmare waiting to happen rather than a utopia. In addition to all of these luxuries that come with living in this paradise, there will also be some concessions that you would have to make. Your every move will be monitored by surveillance devices with sensors, camera, facial-recognition technology, and biometric technology.
I initially heard that the project would take $1 trillion, so I’m not entirely sure which number is the most accurate.
Take a look:
I’m not saying that the thing isn’t pretty cool, because it is. But there are many things in this world that I think are cool, but not a good idea. I think base jumping is cool, but not a good idea.
Here we are in America trying to pass this climate bill that is going to lead us to even higher inflation, but “it’s worth it,” according to the wealthy Democrats.
“Let them eat cake!”
