This past Tuesday, a handful of primary elections were held. Among the states involved were Idaho, Pennsylvania, Kentucky, Oregon, and North Carolina.

In Kentucky, Rand Paul won by a longshot. The battle is still on in Pennsylvania as the margin for the Republican nominee is super tight, but with Dr. Mehmet Oz barely in the lead.

I’ve been calling it for probably two months, but one current Republican member of the House of Representatives just lost his primary. He will not be serving another term in Congress. That person is Madison Cawthorn.

Cawthorn was edged out by approximately 1,300 votes by Chuck Edwards.

I’ve been saying that this was coming for a while because the kid has just drawn too much negative attention to himself with all the stupid things that he’s been doing like driving without a valid driver’s license, wearing women’s lingerie, exhibiting homosexual behavior, accusing members of Congress of being drug addicts and inviting him to 0rgies, bringing a loaded firearm to an airport…TWICE. The list just seems to never end.

He was even endorsed by President Trump, but that didn’t help him. Having President Trump’s name behind you is a big booster when it comes to elections. It’s not a given win, and a couple of those who he has endorsed have lost, but overall, they win.

According to the NY Post,

Edwards topped the embattled Cawthorn by a razor-thin margin Tuesday with 33.5% of the vote over Cawthorn’s 31.6% with about 99% of the ballots tallied.

Edwards, who called himself a Washington outsider, cleared the 30% threshold needed to avoid a July runoff.

Cawthorn had drawn the ire of his fellow Republicans over several controversial statements — including claims that lawmakers had invited him to orgies and snorted cocaine in front of him.

Cawthorn was viewed as a rising star in the GOP when he won the election in 2020 to replace then-Trump White House chief of staff Mark Meadows, but a series of public missteps have dogged his first term in office.

In March, Cawthorn called Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky a “thug” in charge of an “incredibly evil” government. The lawmaker was also twice arrested trying to carry a gun on an airplane and has been accused by a former aide of denying her emergency leave after her husband suffered a heart attack.
