I’m sure that most of us have gone through that time period during a relationship where you do everything you can to make sure you don’t scare off your significant other.

Things like showering everyday, wearing cologne or perfume, and then the big one…holding back your flatulence so that they don’t hear it or smell it. You don’t want to gross them out and run them off, right?

I know that I went through that phase with my wife when we were dating and she even wanted me to let one rip in front of her. I guess it would show her that I trusted her or something. Who knows?

But I can tell you one thing for certain now. I bet you that she is regretting that request today after being together for 17 years and 15 years of marriage.

I recently learned about someone else who went through this too. A Brazilian singer by the name of Viviane de Queiroz Pereira, who goes by the stage name of Pocah, did this very same thing in front of her boyfriend to her own detriment.

Pocah was too embarrassed to let one rip in front of her boyfriend so she just held them in. What resulted from doing so is even more embarrassing than if she would have just let it go.

The singer had to be admitted to the hospital for what she thought was kidney problems or appendicitis. But it was neither.

Her diagnosis was…trapped gas from holding in her toots for too long.

“Girls, don’t be ashamed to fart in front of your guy. Because what’s really embarrassing is not letting your guy sleep because you’re in discomfort, going to the hospital with your guy, and the diagnosis being ‘trapped farts.’ From now on, I’m letting them rip, guys. I’m medicated and I’m fine.”
