Goodbye and Good Riddance! Top Democrat Stepping Down After Midterm Election
For a few months now, we’ve been receiving news little by little regarding Democrats who are not going to be seeking reelection in the upcoming 2022 midterm election.
This only makes the odds of a Republican winning that seat greater.
But there is even better news about what is to come later this year/beginning of next year.
A report by The Washington Post on Monday claimed House Speaker Nancy Pelosi is expected to “step down” after the 2022 midterms as Democrats prepare for new leadership in the days ahead.
“After almost 19 years as House Democratic leader, Speaker Nancy Pelosi (Calif.) is expected to step down at the close of this Congress, ending a historic career that included trying to end George W. Bush’s Iraq War, implementing President Barack Obama’s signature health-care law, impeaching President Donald Trump twice and squeezing President Biden’s sweeping agenda through a narrowly controlled House,” the Post’s Marianna Sotomayor wrote.
So then the question arises who would take her place at the top?
Well, there is some talk already and some of the names that are being thrown around are people like Steny Hoyer, James Clyburn, and Hakeem Jeffries who is the current favorite.
Of course, it’s unlikely that it’ll be an old white male Democrat because the left is so racist and sexist that they would never allow that to happen.
However, there is another idea of who would take that spot and it’s the best option of all. Everything that these liberals have been suggesting so far suggests that Democrats will retain control over the House of Representatives after the election this year. I think that it is more reasonable to assume that the Republicans take control over the House and if President Trump runs for Congress this year, then there is the potential that he would become the new Speaker of the House. How great would that be?
