Nancy Pelosi’s House Majority Crumbling as More Democrats Announce Retirement
There is a red wave that is expected in the 2022 midterm elections. That is to say that most believe that there will be a massive surge of Republicans that will win their elections and likely take over the majority of the House of Representatives.
Honestly, this should happen in the Senate as well, but that’s going to be a little tougher I believe seeing as how we just lost two seats to Democrats in the last election.
There was no way that this should have legitimately happened and I do believe that they probably won only because of the same tricks that they pulled in November 2020 to get Joe Biden into the White House.
But one of the things that is making this look so much like a likely scenario is that there is a growing number of Democrats who have announced their retirement from Congress this go around. As of the time of this writing, 23 Democrats have announced retirement, the most recent of them being Stephanie Murphy, Lucille Roybal-Allard, and Albi Sires.
The National Republican Congressional Committee compared the triple Democratic lawmaker retirement to “scoring a hat trick.”
“House Democrats’ nightmare before Christmas just keeps getting worse. Nobody wants to run as a Democrat because they know voters are rejecting their push for defunding police, higher taxes, and open borders,” NRCC spokesman Mike Berg said in a statement.
Ms. Murphy, a third-term lawmaker, announced her decision on Twitter.
“I’ve decided not to seek another term in Congress,” she stated. “Serving Central Florida has been the honor of my life, but it’s also been incredibly challenging for my family and me. This was not an easy decision, but it is the right decision. Thank you for everything.”
She came into office by defeating GOP incumbent Rep. John Mica in 2016.
The House only needs to pick up 5 seats to regain the majority that they lost back in 2018. I think this is very doable and as long as no funny business happens, it will be the result.
