CNN hosted another town hall event for Joe Biden to get thrown softball questions.

He still struggled to maintain a coherent line of thought and did a lot of mumbling and rambling. I’m sure his handlers were cringing the entire time.

Biden was asked, “So how will you address gun violence from a federal point of view to actually bring about change and make our local cities safer?”

Here was Biden’s response:

“Now, I’m not being a wise guy, there’s no reason you [inaudible], have you seen my gun violence legislation I’ve introduced? As you know, because you’re so involved, actually, crime is down. Gun violence and murder rates are up. Guns. I’m the only guy that ever got passed, legislation when I was a senator, to make sure we eliminated assault weapons. The idea you need a weapon that can have the ability to fire 20, 30, 40, 50, 120 shots from that weapon, whether it’s a, whether it’s a 9mm pistol, or whether it’s a rifle, is ridiculous. I’m continuing to push to eliminate the sale of those things. But I’m not likely to get that done in the near term.”

So what are we going to be left with if Biden got his way? We’d have revolvers and rifles that hole one or two bullets at a time.

But what would the criminals have? Well, they’d still have all the semi-automatic pistols that they have already because they already acquire their guns illegally. That just creates a problem for law-abiding citizens because we’re the ones who are going to be at a disadvantage.

If Washington ever got to a point where they made guns like semi-automatic pistols illegal, that’s when states would step in and say no. Some would not do anything sadly. But some states have already even signed laws that nullify any future gun regulations coming from D.C.
