Democrat Warns Democrats Against Packing Supreme Court with Liberal Justices: ‘Be Very, Very Careful’
One of the recent executive orders from Joe Biden was to create a commission to look at adding more Supreme Court justices.
This way, the Democrats could pack the court with liberal justices, and depending on how much they expanded it by, it may never again have a conservative majority.
Former Senate Leader Harry Reid recently spoke with Jim Acosta on CNN and cautioned against doing something like packing SCOTUS because it might come back to bite them.
Reid said:
“I have no problem with the commission, but I think that the commission is going to come back and disappoint a lot of people because I think they’re going to come back and say, ‘We should just kind of leave it alone.’”
“I think it would be inappropriate at this time after that long history we’ve had in the country to have term limits for judges.”
“I think that we better be very, very careful in saying that we need to expand the Supreme Court. I think we better be very, very, careful.”
“I think we need to be very, very careful” — Harry Reid telling CNN he doesn’t support packing SCOTUS, to @Acosta’s evident disappoinment

Even Harry Reid thinks packing SCOTUS is going too far: “We better be very, very careful in saying that we need to expand the Supreme Court. I think we better be very, very careful." pic.twitter.com/Di7yNX98Cn

Reid also went on to say that he believes that the filibuster will soon be done away with as well. He said it’s not even a matter of “if” but a matter of when.
At this point, I mean who really knows if the filibuster is helpful or hurtful because Congress is so screwed up already anyway.
He mentioned democracy, maybe, at this point right now, we need a 50% Democrat House and Senate, and a 50% Republican House and Senate. This would allow true democracy, right? Well, yes and no because it doesn’t leave room for any other party, plus it would automatically assign certain districts as being either Democrat-run or Republican-run and they truly wouldn’t represent that district. So that, in my opinion, would never happen even though it would balance the power.
