RAW VIDEO: Two Sanitation Workers Rescue Missing 10-Year-Old Girl from Kidnapper
You never know when you’re going to be used by God. Sometimes God puts just ordinary people in the right place at the right time to accomplish his will.
That’s exactly what happened to two sanitation workers while they were driving along just doing their job.
Two men, Dion Merrick and Brandon Antoine were driving along their route when they noticed something didn’t seem right about a vehicle that they drove by. It was a silver sedan that was parked in a field.
Merrick said, “Something told me…I said, what’s that car doing off in the field like that?”
So the men blocked in the vehicle with their garbage truck to prevent the man from escaping and called the police.
“I blocked the truck in, [making] sure he couldn’t get out,” said Merrick.
There was an Amber Alert that had been issued prior to them spotting the vehicle because a 10-year-old girl was kidnapped in New Iberia, Lousiana.
The criminal, Michael Sereal is now being held without bond on charges of aggravated kidnapping of a child and failure to register as a sex offender.
Merrick started streaming live on Facebook at the scene. Take a look:
The two men are being hailed as heroes. The CEO of their company, Pelican, Roddie Matherne praised his employees in a statement to ABC News.
“We couldn’t be prouder of Dion and Brandon,” Matherne said in an email. “In fact, All of our Pelican Waste team have been heroically working without fail during the pandemic quietly, professionally, and consistently serving the communities where we collect garbage & debris. They often respond in other ways while on the road. This was an exceptional thing that may very well have saved a little girl’s [life].
Like I said, you just never know when God is going to use you to something extraordinary.
