Many people on the left have demonized President Trump as being one of the worst presidents in American history. My friends, this is so far from the truth.

Throughout the course of our country’s presidencies, there are a number of candidates that could make the list of worst presidents, but here are five that I think are deserving of the title and just a couple reasons why.

This is not meant to be exhaustive and you may disagree. If so, please let me know why you disagree.

5. George Washington

I know this one may come as a shocker, but hear me out. Most people don’t know much about our first president, but most of the good things about Washington that are written are actually propaganda, much like the story that Christopher Columbus was trying to see if the earth was round.

Washington lived on the reimbursement of expenses and made himself wealthy through this means. But one of the worst things he did was to set precedent that the federal government uses today. Washington was the first president to use federal troops against political dissidents during the Whiskey Rebellion. He marched troops from New York City to Pennsylvania to stop their protesting of the new liquor tax.

There is much more to say about murder, slavery, and starting one of the largest wars, but that’s for another time.

4. Andrew Jackson

Jackson disobeyed superiors to start a new war with the indigenous tribes in America and push the public opinion against the policy makers who were trying to be more kinds to those tribes who rightly owned the land.

Remember the Trail of Tears? Yeah, that was Jackson who forced people from their land, essentially one of the first mass uses of eminent domain.

3. Franklin Delano Roosevelt

This one should be obvious to many of you. FDR rounded up Japanese immigrants and Americans for his concentration camps. He also made some unprecedented attacks on the poor, he devalued the national currency, restricted wage increases, set up the greatest Ponzi scheme of all time, Social Security, devoted entire economic sectors to war, and literally hired Nazis to top roles in our own government.

2. Woodrow Wilson

Wilson’s racism and support of eugenics is something that isn’t that was actually well-known about him, however, that usually doesn’t come up in conversation when talking about his legacy. This is a man who resegregated the military, bolstering his credentials with the Jim Crow South.

Wilson also set the stage for unprecedented wealth transfer from the poor to the rich with the creation of the Federal Reserve. He brought back the income tax, which mind you was created only to fund the war…but the war was over.

When World War I started, Wilson threw the U.S. into it and sided with the widespread colonizers of the world at that point in time.

1. Abraham Lincoln

This one is someone I’ve gone back and forth on for years. If records are accurate, then he deliberately started a with South Carolina and the allies of the state which led to the deaths of 820,000 Americans. There is no other president that even comes close to this.

Remember how he ended slavery to end the war? Well, not exactly, he only freed slaves in the South and only did it to end the war.

After the war, he reneged on his promise to give land to the families of those that slave owners had been exploiting for labor and for sexual gratification. What he did instead was he left the slaves in poverty and reestablished their abusers as property owners and employers.

What this meant was that most of the freed slaves were forced to work for their former masters, who now had even less of a financial incentive to treat their workers better than dogs. All the while, these former masters created the KKK and ended up murdering thousands of black people while they slept.

Again, this isn’t exhaustive and you may disagree. Other notables on the list would be Theodore Roosevelt and Harry Truman.
