The number of cases of COVID-19 is continuing to increase, at least, that’s what the “official” data suggests.

Based on the 7-day moving average, the United States is seeing an average of 135,000 new cases per day.

Let me just say that I still don’t believe those numbers. There is too much evidence to suggest that those numbers are not very accurate, however, I do know that one thing that’s driving these numbers higher is the increased amount of testing going on.

Dr. Anthony Fauci, who is the director of the National Institue of Allergy and Infectious Diseases, has been assisting President Trump and the coronavirus task force in helping to tackle this pandemic.

President Trump has not let Dr. Fauci be the one to decide entirely what the country is going to do, but now the doctor seems to have shifted gears. Now he’s saying that the country needs to start doing what they’re told, namely from the doctors.

“I was talking with my U.K. colleagues who are saying the U.K. is similar to where we are now, because each of our countries have that independent spirit,” Fauci said while speaking at Washington National Cathedral. “I can understand that, but now is the time to do what you’re told.”

“Case numbers are spiking across most of the United States, leading to dire warnings about full hospitals, exhausted health care workers and potential lockdowns,” The New York Times reported. “As conditions worsened and winter approached, the mayors of Chicago and St. Louis imposed stricter limits on gatherings. In both rural counties and major cities, infections continued rising to fearsome new levels with no end in sight.”

Dr. Fauci gave a word of hope last week after he said that he doesn’t think this will last much longer because of the vaccine,

“Certainly it’s not going to be pandemic for a lot longer because I believe the vaccines are going to turn that around,” Fauci said. “Putting it to rest doesn’t mean eradicating it. I doubt we’re going to eradicate this, I think we need to plan that this is something we may need to maintain control over chronically, it may be something that becomes endemic that we have to just be careful about.”
