TLC Reality Star Announced He’s Running for State Representative
They’ve been on TV for over 10 years and we’ve seen many of them grow up, get married and have children of their own. Now one of the Duggar boys is running for State Representative in his home state of Arkansas.
Jedidiah Duggar (who is going by the name Jed) decided to follow in his father, Jim Bob’s steps and run for State Rep.
The 20-year-old took to Instagram earlier this month to formally make his announcement for his candidacy for Arkansas state representative.
On his website, he makes mention of his “conservative values.” Jed is hoping to win over the current first-term occupant of the seat in his district, Megan Godfrey who is a Democrat. His father Jim Bob Duggar held the same seat from 1998 to 2002.
“I’m a Conservative. Pro-Life. Pro-Second Amendment. Pro Religious Liberty. 🇺🇸 Combat the Opioid Crisis. Lower Taxes. More Jobs & Growth. Strong Economy,” he continued.
Duggar further elaborated on his political platform through the Instagram video
“Northwest Arkansas is the economic engine of our state, our local jobs and state economy depend on elected officials that take a common-sense, business approach to legislative reforms. I will fight for sound fiscal policies and tax relief for all Arkansans,” Duggar stated.
Jed states on his website, “I have grown up in the Springdale area all my life and as a local small-business owner, I understand the important issues facing the residents and businesses of District 89. I will fight for sound economic policies, push for more tax relief for all Arkansans, and advocate for conservative values. I am a Christian and I will stand up for religious liberty, I am pro-life and I will be an advocate for the unborn, and I will always defend our Second Amendment. With your support, I will be a strong, conservative voice in Little Rock for District 89.”
